The following are the bid instructions of the foreclosure sales obtained from the Lake County Clerks office.
1) At the time of sale the successful bidder must deposit in cash, cashier’s check or money order, 5% of the successful bid. No personal checks will be accepted. By 4:00 p.m. the same day the balance of the bid plus costs must be paid cash, cashier’s check or money order.
2) The success bid amount must be placed in the registry of the court. A Clerk’s fee of 2% of the first $500.00 and 1% of the remainder of your bid will be due on that amount. Also due at this time are the Documentary stamps which are charged at $.70 (cents) per $100.00 of the final bid. The total amount required will be calculated by the clerk at the end of the sale.
3) IMPORTANT: The Clerk’s office does not guarantee a clear title and is not responsible for any encumbrances on the property.
4) REMEMBER: If you are the highest bidder and you do not honor your bid for any reason YOU WILL BE BARRED FROM BIDDING AT ANY FUTURE FORCLOSURE SALES IN LAKE COUNTY.
